A dig with Paleontologist John Hankla and the Dinosaur Discovery Field School in Newcastle, Wyoming. Discover the fossil treasures of the 64.5 million year old Lance Formation in Eastern Wyoming, where the last dinosaurs on earth lived and died. Trip will include dinosaur fossil dig, seeing other fossil sites, and a director’s tour of the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research. The first skill in learning geology is making good observations of rocks. Learn how to determine past environments that existed when different Colorado rocks formed and why those rocks are now the tops of mountains. Lesson plans and 50+ rocks to go with them included.
