Dinosaur Discovery Days

Dinosaur Discovery Days are free outdoor events hosted by Dinosaur Ridge at the Main Visitor Center Complex and along the Ridge Trail on the second Saturday of the month between May and October. Volunteers are stationed along the Dinosaur Ridge Trail at significant interpretive sites, while many others staff booths and activities at the Main Visitor Center Complex for kids of all ages. Visitors can hike at their own pace or take the shuttle bus at $4 per person on these special days (ages three and under ride free).

May 12 – Boy Scout Day – 9 am to 3 pm

August 11 – Reptiles & Birds Day - 10 am to 2 pm

September 8 – Gem & Mineral Day - 10 am to 2 pm

October 13 – Girl Scout Day & National Fossil Day – 9 am to 3 pm

Girl Scout Day & National Fossil Day—October 13

Join us for our annual Girl Scout Day at Dinosaur Ridge! All Girl Scouts, friends, and family are invited. Girl Scouts and other youth must attend with a troop leader, parent, or guardian. Children are not permitted to attend without supervision. Children 3 and under are free. Representatives from local STEM-focused organizations will lead hands-on activities for Girl Scout and work toward earning badges. During this event, we're ALSO recognizing National Fossil Day,so the general public is also welcome to come learn about fossils and celebrate.

Date: Saturday, October 13, 2018
Time: 9 am- 3pm (Allow at least two hours to complete activities and plan to arrive no later than 1 pm)
Location: Dinosaur Ridge, Morrison | 16831 W. Alameda Parkway, Morrison, CO
Registration End Date: Wednesday, October 10 at 11:59 pm
Program Levels: Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, Ambassador, and Adults
* Advanced Registration (before Oct 10): $9/Girl Scout; $5/adult and other youth
* Walk-Up Registration (on Oct 13): $10/Girl Scout; $6/adult and other youth (walk-up registration closes at 1 pm)

* Good walking shoes, your camera, your friends, or family
* Wear your vest or sash to show off your Girl Scout pride!

* The desire to learn about the creatures that walked the earth millions of years ago

Reptiles & Birds Day—August 11

Gem & Mineral Day—September 8

When: Satuday, September 8 from 10 am-2 pm

September is Gem and Mineral month here in Denver. On Gem & Mineral Day, come learn about local gems and minerals and what minerals are used for in our everyday lives. Partners and vendors coming soon!
