Dinosaur Detectives is two hands-on programs for kids, one in the spring and the other in the fall. These programs are free to visitors!
Spring: Footprint Frenzy!
Join the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge March (insert date) of 2010 from 10:00-11:30am at the Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center for a morning of hands-on activities for kids! Get there early to see the many footprint replicas that the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge has on display.
After a brief introduction, Friends of Dinosaur Ridge’s Education Programs Assistant Erin Fair will teach kids how paleontologists find and study dinosaur tracks! Activities include casting tracks, a field trip up the hill to see the real footprints of the Dinosaur Freeway, and finally painting footprints to take home.
This program is geared toward 1st to 3rd grade (6 to 10 years old), however all children are welcome to attend! The class is free, but donations are appreciated.
Fall: Backyard Bones!

Activities include the Backyard Bones simulated dinosaur dig and a field trip up the hill to see the real dinosaur bones along Dinosaur Ridge!
