Fridayt November 7, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Red Rocks Visitor Center (at the top of the amphitheater) $75.00 dinner and donation. Help the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge celebrate 20 wonderful years. Featured speaker: Dr. Tony Fiorillo "Tracking Dinosaurs in Alaska". Don't forget to bring your wallet for the terrific treasures in the silent auction - wear something tropical. Fireside Chat CANCELLED October 29 7:00 PM On Wednesday, October 29th, join us at the Exhibit Hall meeting room on the upper floor for a talk titled "Jumping Tracks and other Mammal Tracks" presented by Toni Culver, Collections Manager at the UC-Boulder Museum of Natural History. (read more) Dinosaur Discovery Day Come visit us on Saturday October 4th for a day of touring the ridge and listening to informative talks by our experienced tour guides at many of the stops along the ridge. With the closure of Alameda Parkway, you can leisurely walk along the ridge without the distraction of passing traffic. Also visit our new Exhibit Hall featuring unique paintings depicting the ridge at various times in the geologic past. Also don't forget to stop at the Visitor's Center and Store for informative literature and souvenirs. (read more)

07/05/2008 - Opening of the Dinosaur Ridge Exhibit Hall On Saturday July 5th at the monthly Dinosaur Discovery Day, the long anticipated Exhibit Hall was opened to the public. The grand opening was attended by more than 400 visitors. (read more) |
Welcome to The Dinosaur Ridge area is one of the world's most famous dinosaur fossil localities. Here, in 1877, some of the best-known dinosaurs (Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, and Allosaurus. In 1973, the area was recognized for its uniqueness as well as its historical and scientific significance when it was designated the Morrison Fossil Area National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service. In 1989, the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge formed to address increasing concerns regarding the preservation of the site and to offer educational programs on the area's resources.
