CAMPS

Dinosaur Ridge Camps are an unforgettable adventure! Our camps keep kids moving and discovering in the incredible setting of our National Natural Landmark. These experiences are designed to foster excitement and wonder for science, art, and the outdoors while engaging in our hands-on educational curriculum.

Our small group sizes give every camper the opportunity to play, explore, and expand their knowledge.  Each camp offers exploration of the Dinosaur Ridge fossil sites, hands-on science projects, as well as expert guest presenters in the fields of paleontology, geology, art, earth science, survival skills, and local plants and animals.

REGISTRATION OPENS ON 11/15/2018!

Creative in the Cretaceous

Let’s get creative and see dinosaurs in a whole new light! This will be a day full of arts and crafts where your camper will create a puppet for a dino skit, study and create tracks and tracings using real fossils, get down and dirty with paint making prints with a guest artist from Think360Arts, and much more.

Earth Science: From Crystals to Quakes

Let’s explore the Earth together! This will be a day of hands-on rocks, minerals and geology! Create a machine that measures earthquakes, test how meteorites leave behind craters and investigate rock and fossil collections with a guest geologist from Trail Gems Guided Tours! Your young scientist will bring home growing crystals and a lot of new knowledge!

Nature in Your Backyard

Let’s find out what animals and plants live, and have lived, in our Colorado backyard! Compare tracks from Dinosaur Ridge with modern-day animal tracks, investigate animal skulls with a guest speaker from Jeffco Open Space, and play games exploring habitats, resources, and extinction. We will trek outdoors to explore how plants and animals survive and thrive in winter.
