Our popular pre-K and Kindergarten in-person program is offered monthly* at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center location near Red Rocks Entrance 1.

 
 

Pricing is $5 for participating children. Accompanying children under 2 years are free if they won’t be participating in the craft. No charge for adults.

Upcoming TriceraTOTs Sessions

Join us on the 2nd Saturday of each month* at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center for fun 30-minute craft and story time sessions!  Advance online registration is required. Two sessions are available at 9a.m. and 10 a.m.

*No sessions in January or July

All programs meet at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center just inside Entrance 1 to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre:   17681 W. Alameda Parkway, Golden, CO

February 10: 3D Printing with Sand Valentines
Did you know that you can make 3D art with glue and sand? Similar to how crystals form in caves with water and minerals, we’re going to make shapes out of sand for our valentines this year!

March 9: Dinosaur Bead Art
Create a bead dinosaur friend for today’s fun craft! Everyone needs a beadie buddy to take home!

April 13: Everyone Needs a Rock
Probably the easiest pet to take care of, we’ll create our own pet rocks and learn about the rocks we’re taking home!

May 11: Compost in a Bottle
Let’s learn about composting, and make a little composting terrarium of our own! You can take it home and add your own worms, isopods (rolly polly), and other critters, or even create a bigger composting bin for your house!

June 8: Walk Like a Dinosaur
For this activity, we’re going to get messy! Wear old clothes that are okay to get painty, because we’re going to make our own trackways just like the dinosaurs did 100 million years ago!

August 10: Feeding the Dinosaurs
To prepare our local living dinosaurs for fall, meaning our wild bird friends, we’re going to create some pinecone bird feeders using wild bird seed!

September 14: Popsicle Stick Dinosaur Puzzle
We’ll create a fun dinosaur matching puzzle using popsicle sticks!

October 12: Trace Fossils in Clay
Dinosaur Ridge is famous for the dinosaur tracks, worm burrows, and leaf impressions – which are all trace fossils. We’ll create our own trace fossils out of clay for this fun activity!

November 9: Paper Plate Snakes
In November, our wild snake friends are getting ready to den for the winter. Let’s make some beautiful paper plate snakes for our craft to send them off for a good winter hibernation!

December 14: Dinosaur Snowglobes
As winter sets in, let’s create some decorative dinosaur snowglobes to celebrate the season!
