Looking for something fun and educational to keep your young explorers busy over the upcoming Winter Break? Dinosaur Ridge Winter Break Camp is back!
Join us December 28-31 and January 4-5 for a winter break filled with fossils, rocks, gems and minerals, nature, art, and plenty of hands-on discovery!
The best part? Families can register for one day, several days, or all six. Each day features a different theme and new adventures, making it easy to build a camp schedule that works around your family’s schedule.
Registration opens October 1, so keep an eye out for more information and get ready for a Winter Break full of science, discovery, and fun!

Winter Break Camp Days:
December 28 – Let’s Do Science Today!
Earth Science – Space Science – Life Science: there’s so many types of science! Get ready to ask questions, make discoveries, and explore the world through fun, hands-on science experiments and investigations!
December 29 – Let’s be Paleontologists Today!
Grab your boots, prepare your thinking caps, and get ready to dig, discover, and think like a real paleontologist as we uncover clues about prehistoric life!
December 30 – Let’s Draw Dinosaurs Today!
Bring your imagination to life as we learn about ancient habitats and what lived in them to create our own prehistoric masterpieces!
December 31 – Let’s Find Wildlife Today!
Today we’ll become wildlife detectives and explore nature, search for animal clues, and discover the creatures living all around us!
January 4 – Let’s Be Geologists Today!
Do you like shiny gems, big crystals, or rocky boulders? Get ready to get your hands on some amazing rocks and minerals as we investigate how the Earth works and become geologists for the day!
January 5 – Let’s Find Footprints Today!
Follow the clues left behind by ancient life, maybe even some dinosaurs, as we learn how footprints can tell us incredible stories about the past!

The Winter Break Camp itinerary will be shared two weeks prior to the start of the first session.
Daily Pricing
- $84 daily rate with discounts for members, multi-day, and multi-child registrations.
- $20 daily rate for Aftercare.
Camp Cancellation Policy
• Up to November 15 – refunds are available in full
• November 16 – 30 – refunds will be 50% (After-care refunded fully)
• December 1 through the end of the camp season: no refunds *
*At any time, you can cancel and choose to place funds into your ACTIVE Family Account for future use at Dinosaur Ridge Camps (Summer, Winter Break, Spring Break, etc.).

Erin LaCount direct multiple weeks of camp experiences year-round with activities that are a blend of fun and learning. Spaces sell out quickly and many campers return year after year, some to become Junior Camp Counselors themselves.

Education Programs Director
In April of 2002 Erin joined the staff at Dinosaur Ridge as a summer school tour guide and camp assistant. More than 20 years later Erin is the Education Programs Director overseeing the educational components of school and public tours, special events, camps, and exhibits.
Erin has an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in geology and museum studies. She has a passion for learning about the ancient world and sharing that knowledge with all ages!
