Location and Transportation

We will meet at the Main Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center and drive in our 15-passenger van west! Our locations will be Fruita, Colorado; Moab, Utah; Price, Utah; and Vernal, Utah before heading back for a quick stop in Grand Junction, Colorado. The sites we will visit and tour are:

  • Dinosaur Journey Museum (Fruita)
  • Mygatt-Moore Quarry (outside of Fruita)
  • Moab Giants (Moab)
  • Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry (Price)
  • Dinosaur National Monument (Vernal)
  • Museum of the West (Grand Junction

Physical Exertion Level/Accessibility

We will finalize these details as we confirm with the locations about our final activities and guided portions vs. self guided. So far, all of the exertion levels are mild to moderate trail hiking or paved trail walking. There will be options for Dinosaur National Monument based on which trail attendees would like to explore. We will be outdoors for many portions of the trip at these sites, so planning ahead for October conditions will be necessary. If rainy conditions are present, the trails/paths may be muddy or gravelly, and even if it’s sunny and things are clear, we recommend sturdy hiking shoes that come up over the ankle in the case of loose rocky material and native biting critters (like rattlesnakes). More detailed information coming soon!
