Behind-the-Scenes Colorado Museum Collections

Join Dinosaur Ridge on this trip to see what’s housed behind locked doors, inside cabinets, and stored in the back rooms of three Denver area museums!

1. We will start the day with a guided tour and exploration of geology and paleontology collections at Dinosaur Ridge.

2. Next, we’ll check out the current home of the first Stegosaurus bone fossils and other specimens at the Morrison Natural History Museum.

3. We’ll then head to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for behind-the-scenes access to their Education, Paleontology, and Geology collections led by experts and collections managers.

LOCATION & TRANSPORTATION 

We will ride in Dinosaur Ridge vans starting at the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center near Entrance 1 to Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre.

This trip is for all who wish to attend! We can make any part of the trip accessible, and if need be and you have an accessible vehicle unique to your needs, you may follow us to the locations and participate fully. Please notify us of any special needs so we can fully accommodate all participants.

PROGRAM FEE 

$130/person ($20 discount available for Members – request a code from Erin.LaCount@DinoRidge.org before registering). 

Fee includes transportation, museum admissions, lunch and snacks.

TRIP CANCELLATION POLICY 

The trip is contingent on a minimum of 10 registered participants and will be cancelled if the minimum is not met. 

If the trip is cancelled by Dinosaur Ridge, participants receive a full refund. All cancellations must be received by email.  

• Cancellations received 45 or more calendar days prior to departure qualify for a full refund. 

• Cancellations received 21 or more calendar days prior to departure qualify for a 50% refund of program fees. 

• Cancellations received 20 calendar days or less prior to departure are assessed as a cancellation fee of 100% of the program fees. You may transfer your registration to another attendee or forfeit your payment.
