2026 TriceraTOTs Schedule
Whirlybirds in Flight!
Friday May 8
Saturday May 9
Did you know that different plants grow different shaped seeds or seed pods to help their seeds survive? Some seeds can even fly – or at least, fall with style to land farther away from the tree. We find seeds and plant fossils at Dinosaur Ridge, so let’s learn how these whirling seed pods move by making paper whirlybirds!
Dinosaur Track Suncatchers!
Friday June 12
Saturday June 13
Sometimes the best way to find new dinosaur tracks is to go out at different times of the day. As the sun crosses the sky, it changes the shadows and colors on the ground! We’re going to create a fun suncatcher with tissue paper and dinosaur track cutouts to hang in our windows!
Reminder: No TriceraTOTs in July!
Paint-a-Dino!
Saturday August 8
Friday August 14
Over the last few years, paleontologists have found evidence of some dinosaur skin colors using special microscopes! Browns, reds, whites, blacks, and oranges – for both skin and feathers! What would your dinosaur look like? We’ll have some blank canvas dinosaur models for you to paint and design your own dinosaur color!
(Come dressed to potentially get messy)
Paleo Art Practice!
Friday September 11
Saturday September 12
What color were ancient creatures, anyway? Was a plesiosaur covered in bright swirls of green and pink? Was a T. rex covered in yellow dots and blue stripes? For our craft today, we’re going to color our own dinosaurs based on models, pictures, and art in our exhibits!
Hidden in Plain Sight!
Friday October 9
Saturday October 10
Some animals blend in with their habitat because of the colors and patterns on their bodies. This is called camouflage, and some dinosaurs may have done the same! We’re going to create an art piece with hidden dinosaurs that suddenly appear when we’re all done!
Dino-Bird in the Hand!
Friday November 13
Saturday November 14
Did you know that birds are living dinosaurs? They’re related to meat-eating dinosaurs! To celebrate that relationship, we’re going to do a classic: make hand turkey…dinosaurs! Create this fall decoration with colors, feathers, and more! It’ll be a hand turkey like you’ve never made before!
Create a Dinosaur Habitat!
Friday December 11
Saturday December 12
All animals need a habitat to live in, whether that’s a goldfish in a pond or an elephant in the savanna. What kind of habitats did dinosaurs live in? Let’s make one into a display for the holiday season!
